International Faculty of Engineering
International Faculty of Engineering (IFE) is a unit of TUL offering programes taught completly in English and French, which is a unique offer among studies provided by technical universities in Poland, perfectly suited also for students from abroad.
At present there are over 1000 students at the faculty. The staff of IFE are academics from different TUL faculties who have great ecperience in international cooperation, and also foreign professors.
All IFE programmes include fundamental concepts and principlesof science, general and specialized technical subjects as well as courses in management and organization. In addition, each programme contains both core students and electives, which allows students to individualize their study programmes.
The main objective of the faculty is to educate proffesional engineers and managers, fluent in foreign languages, able to demonstrate their knowledge in science, engineering, technology, management and business. This goal has been evidently confirmed by TUL records showing that the employment rate

of IFE alumni is one of the highest within the technical university graduates in Poland.
IFE originates from the idea of establishing modern unit of TUL that would successfully face the challenges of modern civilization based on rapidly developing computer science nad modern technologies. The growth of the IFE educational potential went in parallel with fundamental changes in Poland and its affiliation with the Erupean Community countries by participating in EU educational programmes. After Poland's accesion to the Europaen Union in 2004 TUL and all its units have full access to EU educational programmes securing the exchange of students and academic staff. Due to its growing potential IFE makes the best use of international cooperation, participating in such EU programmes as Socrates, LLP Erasmus, Campus Europae and Tempus.
IFE offers also a "mobility semester". All third-year students, approximately 150 students each year, have possibility to go to 60 universities in 15 countries under the scheme of Erasmus programme. |
What kind of study programme to choose?
While slecting a study programme, candidates have to take into consideration both their personal interests and - ehat is of utmost importance - how and where they will have a chance to utilize the awuire knowledge. skills and competence in proffesional practice. At TUL proscective students can find courses puprosefully adjusted to the demands of modern economy and industry.
The education provided by TUL crates a unique opportunity not only to fulfil students' intellectual expectations of studying an interesting specialization but with its various degree programmes enhances graduates' chances for finding a satisfying and financially rewarding job. The possibility of studying degree programmes taught in English or French offered by International Faculty of Engineering makes graduates' chances even more firm.

Business nad Technology (English), Gestion et technologie (French)
offered in cooperation with Faculty of Organization and Management.
Contemporary companies require competent managing staff ready to introduce successfully new technological solutions indispensable for company development. The staff has to be well-educated and skilled both in engineering and management, and need to be well-acquainted with computer software supporting both these areas.
Initialy, the programme includes basic technical subjects and a wide range of design aspects involving mechanical and electrical constructions. Later on, courses in economy, finances, banking systems, management (of human resources, of production processes, of quality, etc.) and marketing strategies are intorduced.
Graduates will be competent in different fields of engineering an technology and have thorough knowledge of management problems, in paricular concerning industrial management. This fundamental knowledge creates the basis for forecasting future technological changes, which are very important in establishing a company strategy.

Telecommunications andComputer Science
offered in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering.
Electronics, telecommunication and computer science invade ecery now and again new domains of human activity, thus creating new opportunities for contemporary students who can fulfil their passin and interests in Internet, wireless and radio nets, buildings of microchips, electronic systems and devices.
Students of the programme learn how to design electronic devices and electronic systems for sognal processing and transformation. Thay also get acquainted with the last numerical techniques including microprocessor techniques and modern telecommunictions systems, acquire skills in signal and image analysing and processing as well as learn the application of microelectronics, optoelectronics, radioelectronics, antenna and satelite systems. Significant share of computer science subjects in the programme curriculum allows students for thorough learning of computer techniques and software design.
The graduates' additional bonus will be the knowledge in the areas of economy, organization and management.
Computer Science
offered in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering.
Students of the programme perform the challenging tasks of design, implementation, organization and supervization of informatics systems, computer nets and data transformation ststems. They learn wide rande of programming, including programming in C, C++, Java and assembler as well as graphic environment programming, net programming and dispersed programming. They also get acquainted with object with object moddeling, computer nets, internet technologies, operation systems, structure of microprocessor systems, architecture of modern mocroprocessors, computer graphics, image processing, coding of multimedia and many others.
To become comprehensively educated specialists in Computer Science students also aquire knowledge in electronics, numerical techniques, basics of telecommuniations and automatics.
